Heimlich Heroes™ in the Time of Coronavirus

First in a Blog Series: Our Value and Commitment to Saving Lives

What can Heimlich Heroes offer, during coronavirus? As you know, our mission is to train people of all ages to recognize, respond to and prevent a choking emergency. The core focus of our training is teaching school-age kids how to perform the Heimlich Maneuver®.

As schools across the nation consider how best to open this fall, Heimlich Heroes remains committed to saving lives and teaching kids how. Schools are considering several options such as blended, virtual, and in-class, and others. Regardless of your school’s plan, Heimlich Heroes offers training in all cases.

DHH Best Practices

Our training is tailored to accommodate any school opening plan. Explore our Popular Training Options for:

  • Blended. If some in-class interaction is permitted choose hands-on, in-class training combined with virtual learning.
  • Virtual. If your school re-opens or returns to online-only learning, you can facilitate through online training modules.
  • In-class. Students attend physical classrooms one to five days of the academic week. Although  the “Blended” approach is frequently chosen, a paper material with DVD option is available.

Regardless of your training choice, Heimlich Heroes retains its value. Perhaps more so, as students and staff enter this school year of uncertainties. If you’ve used Heimlich Heroes training in the past, you know how important and engaging this lesson is—for both students and staff. And, because the Heimlich Maneuver is easy to learn and the hands-on practice makes it fun, it's a lesson that stays with us for a lifetime!

We look forward to the 2020-21 school year! Remember, Anyone Can be a Heimlich Hero.
